On April 10, 2016 Ava was baptized. This was a very special day for us that we got to share with our family and friends as Ava received this sacrament. We promised to nurture her in Christ's holy Church so that by our teaching and example she may be guided to accept God's grace for herself, profess her faith openly, and lead a Christian life.
Some of our family members live far away and couldn't make it but they were able to view the baptism from the Church's live streaming and can still view it here (Minute 19:57 is where the baptism begins). Even though they couldn't make it, we definitely kept them in our hearts and sent TONS of pictures of the day.
Ava was such a good baby for the entire service. She didn't cry one time! After she was baptized the Pastor carried her around the room as the congregation sang to her. Before the service we practiced a pageant wave and I am 99% sure that she might have tried to wave! Ava did way better than I did. I was so nervous and excited and super fidgety.
For her baptism Ava wore the gown I wore for my baptism.
After the ceremony we headed back to our house for some lunch catered from Olive Garden and ice cream cake for dessert for Joey's birthday so we could celebrate his birthday with family. Ava got to help Daddy blow out his candles again. Ava kept her eyes on that cake the entire time!
This day was such a wonderful day with family and friends. We are truly blessed!
