Last weekend, we headed 12 hours north to the town I was born in, Greenville, Mississippi. We went for my cousin’s wedding. We had such a wonderful time! It had been 11 years since my last visit to Greenville.
We took a little family road trip during Thanksgiving break. We originally planned to go to Atlanta and then head to Blue Ridge, GA. Unfortunately, due to the wild fires in North Georgia we canceled our plans for Blue Ridge and headed to Birmingham instead.
Last weekend, Joey and I had another weekend getaway to Orlando. My parents watched Ava for us while we had a weekend to ourselves. We had such a great time!
A few weekends ago before my summer break ended Joey surprised me with a staycation. He told me ahead of time that he reserved us a room for two nights in Orlando.
We had a great holiday weekend! It was very busy and filled with lots of adventures, family, friends, love, laughter and great food. Our weekend started off with the greatest news ever! Joey passed his lineman's test. This is something that he has been working towards for 4 years. We are so proud of him and so grateful for all the hard work, sweat, sacrifices, and dedication he has put forth for our family!
Last week, Ava and I headed to Cocoa beach to hang out with my parents for a few days. Unfortunately, Joey couldn't make it for this trip and we sure did miss him. I made sure to take LOTS of pictures to show him when we got home.
Prior to going I imagined my beach vacation being filled with days of me relaxing at the beach, sunbathing in my lounge chair while drinking a Pina Colada and reading my book while Ava napped. Hahaha...who was I kidding? I am a Momma now!
This is what it really looked like...
A few weekends ago we headed to St. Augustine FL. with my in-laws to get away and celebrate our Anniversary along with theirs. While we were there we made a quick trip to the beach so Ava could set her toes in the sand for the first time. It was too cold to get into the water but Ava LOVED the sand! She only tried to eat the sand once and that was it. She was a total beach babe! I can't wait to take her this summer when the water is a little bit warmer.
Last weekend Joey and I headed to Jekyll Island for my cousins wedding. It was nice to celebrate with family, see some family that we haven't seen in a while and have a mini vacation. The first day we arrived we went to see Driftwood Beach and get out and about. This was Ava's first time at the beach. Unfortunately, it was so cold and windy that we didn't stay long at all.
