We had a wonderful time this weekend celebrating Easter and our resurrected King!
This year the Easter Bunny came early to our house. We knew we were going to have a busy Easter Sunday so we thought the Easter bunny could drop by early. Ava loved opening her basket. Her favorite things were the plastic eggs, a fruit bar and her bubble stick. I am actually taking back one of the things we got her. She wasn’t really interested in it and truthfully she has so many toys and things to play with already that she didn’t really need it. Honestly, I think she would have been happy with just the eggs and some of her favorite snacks. HAHA…I think I did the rest for me really.
After we opened the baskets Ava had her first Easter egg hunt at our house. It was so much fun to see her hunting all of the eggs. It brought me so much joy to see the excitement and determination on her face. Oh my goodness! It was the best!
Once Ava's basket was filled she would dump out all of her eggs. She did this over and over again.
She also waved to the neighbors passing by. It was so cute!
She was a very serious Easter egg hunter.
The reality of trying to take a family picture with a toddler.
Later that day we dyed some Easter eggs. Well at least we tried. We tried to make some tie-dyed eggs but that didn’t work out very well. This is about how far we got. Maybe next year we will step up on egg dying game.
The next day we woke up early and headed to Orlando to surprise my parents at their Church. Everyone came home for Easter. It was so nice and such a wonderful time!
I got some snuggles in with my nephew. Oh my goodness he is such a cuddly baby! I just love him so much!!!
I mean seriously...look how cute they are.
Here is my wonderful sister (my best friend) and my favorite brother in-law.
And Ava LOVED seeing her Uncle Andrew.
After church we went back to Nona and Papa’s house for another Easter egg hunt and some delicious food!
Next, year Ava’s little cousins will be running around and bringing her some competition so this year we made sure she received lots of practice!
Afterwards, Ava and Nona had a pantry snack party in the kitchen.
Some of my three favorite men helping out in the kitchen.
Meanwhile...Ava figured out how to climb Nona and Papa's stairs.
For lunch we had ravioli with the choice of spaghetti gravy or soup, a honey glazed ham, roast beef (stuffed with garlic for extra flavor), my Momma’s gravy (she makes the best), mashed potatoes, southern style green beans, pineapple casserole, biscuits, deviled eggs, and coconut cake and sour cream cookies for dessert. It was DELICIOUS!!!
Here's proof that my child does smile for pictures (when cake is involved).
The day truly was amazing! I couldn’t think of a better was to celebrate our resurrected King and the many blessings he has blessed us with!
