This summer has been so hot and when it comes to desserts all I can think of is something cold, sweet, and delicious. This ice cream cake is all of those things and more. It's super easy to throw together with zero baking required AND you can easily make it your own by using your favorite ice cream.
When Joey passed his lineman test I knew this was the cake I wanted to make for him using some of his favorite ice creams.
Before we get started there are just a few things I want to recommend and point out.
Ok, so let's get started!
It's really simple. Let your ice cream sit out for a little bit to soften in order to make it easier to spread. You will want to move fast, because your ice cream will be melting. Cover your deep dish pan with either aluminum foil or saran wrap. Using your ice cream of choice spread your first layer.
Then add your next layer. I chose to use ice cream sandwiches.
After that round add your next layer. I wanted to add the chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream again but my pan wasn't deep enough so instead I added the crushed cookies.
This is where you can get fun with it and add another one of your favorite ice creams. When I was at the store I actually meant to grab one cookies and cream and one chocolate chip cookie dough but some how I grabbed two chocolate chip cookie dough. It was still delicious though.
Don't mind the chocolate fudge. Haha! I got a little excited and forgot to take my picture before I threw the fudge on there.
My last layer was chocolate fudge.
I let it sit in the freezer for a few hours to harden and then when Joey got home we sliced a piece and celebrated his success!
