Not Your Momma’s Caramel Corn: That’s right…it’s not your Momma’s because it is my HUSBAND’S Homemade Caramel Popcorn. I used to be really good at making caramel corn and then I lost my recipe and haven’t been able to get back into the groove of things. I made 7 batches this week and none of them were a success. Finally on the 7th batch I said forget! I AM DONE! That’s when my husband hopped in the kitchen and baked his FIRST batch. I have to say it was AMAZING! Of course, the competitive side of me came out and when I discovered that his popcorn was better than mine I pouted like a little 2 year old. But then I tasted it and it was heavenly! That's when I put on my big girl pants, dealt with the fact that my husband is the KING of caramel corn (which means I could still be the QUEEN) and ate more popcorn! I am so proud of him.
Ava’s First Time at The Beach: A few weekends ago we took Ava to the beach for the first time. It was a short trip on the beach. We only stay for about an hour or two because we were in St. Augustine and wanted to walk downtown. Ava LOVED the sand. She only tried to eat it once. I told her, “No no we don’t eat the sand,” and that was it. She didn’t try it again. We didn’t get to take her in the water because it was too cold but she is definitely a fan of the sand!
Dry Shampoo: This week Joey bought me this really nice bottle of dry shampoo for Teacher Appreciation Week. I LOVE it! I didn’t wash my hair for 4 days and it was still going strong at the end of day 4! It also helps add volume to my hair. Lord knows I LOVE big hair!
Sweet Little Portraits: This has become my favorite shops to follow. Everyday I look forward to seeing a new digital portrait. Her work really touched my heart when I saw a family portrait that had two little angels drawn above the family. One blue and one pink to represent the miscarriages they had. I have had several friends who have had miscarriages and I immediately thought of them. These portraits are unique and a great way to represent your family. I LOVE them! You can find her work here or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org
Downy Un-stopables: Last weekend I mixed a few of these Downy Un-stopables with some dish soap and water in my mop bucket to mop the floors. I love the way they make our clothes smell so I thought I would try them in my mop bucket. It worked! Our house had a clean fresh scent throughout!
