It's FRIDAY! Woohoo! I am so excited that I get to wear jeans to work, it's payday, AND I get to stop by Dunkin on my way to work. So let's get on with my favorite five this week.
1.) First on my list is this lineman, my amazing husband! Today is Florida's Lineman Appreciation Day and I want to say thank you to all the lineman out their who risk their lives every day so we can have power. Before I was married to a lineman, I would always complain when my power went out during a storm. I would get frustrated at how long it took to turn it back on. Now, as a wife of a lineman my perspective has completely changed. When I see storms rolling in, I starting praying for the safety of the linemen who are working and peace for their families at home who are hoping and praying they make it home safely. My perspective has completely changed. To all the lineman out there, THANK YOU today and every day for all that you do!
2.) Last week, this little one turned one! I can’t believe we have a one year old now. We had such a blast celebrating. I am currently working on my blog post with all the details on her birthday and should have it posted this weekend.
3.) So I have taught at a Title One school for more than 5 years which means I was able to apply for the Teacher Student Loan Forgiveness program to receive $5,000 off of my loan debt. After applying FIVE times, and completing several steps I am so happy to say that my application was accepted and approved! I received my $5,000 last week. Praise.The.Lord!
I thought this was funny!
4.) Now, that school has started life has been a little crazy lately and with Ava getting older and more and more mobile our morning routine has gotten a little hectic. It used to be she would wake up right before we needed to leave for work and take her bottle, which gave us time to get ready. It also gave me time to wake up super early and get some blogging in. However, these days she likes to get up early too. Usually between 4:30-5:00 am and shows little interest in her bottle or toys. So we usually have to find random things to keep her occupied like a box of bows, or kitchen pots and pans, etc.
This is what our morning looked like one day this week and when I look back I can’t help but laugh. I had put a dirty dish in the dishwasher and forgot to close the lid. Well, Ava took it upon herself to climb on the door and unload all of the DIRTY silverware.
Then she wanted to share her pancake with Georgia. She doesn’t understand that Georgia doesn’t know how to take little bites of things so when she realized that Georgia had eaten her whole pancake she just started crying and screaming.
In the moment, when we are trying to get out the door, these situations can sometimes be stressful, but when we look back we just laugh and are enjoying these stages with her.
5.) I am going to be and AUNT soon! Very soon...like by tomorrow soon. My little nephew Easton will be making his way into the world soon and I can't wait to spoil him rotten! I am so happy for my brother and Brandi. They are going to be wonderful parents! I can't wait for them to experience the love of a child.
Join me in my journey as a wife, new mom and a baker as I learn to balance all of life's aprons.
