This week our Valentine's day celebration, our big trip planned for this summer and more...
1. Valentine's Day: Joey and I have decided that for Valentine's Day we are going to skip the whole gift thing and just have a date night and hand written cards (instead of buying one). This year Nana and Pop watched Ava for us so we could go out on a date. I don't know if we were more excited about the alone time or sleeping in. We went to the movies to see the new John Wick movie and ate dinner at their bistro. This was really nice. You arrive thirty minutes before your movie, order your dinner and eat it while the movie is playing. The food was delicious and the movie was really good. That next morning we got to sleep in until 7:15 am. Our dog woke us up! It still beats our usual 4:30 am wake up from Ava.
2.) Summer Vacation: I am happy to announce that we are taking a family vacation to Colorado this summer! We have booked our plane ticket and the place we will be staying for 7 days. I am so excited! We will be staying in Boulder and then traveling around during our stay. I am super excited about seeing The Avett Brothers in concert at Red Rocks!
3.) Putty Buddies: A few weeks ago I post about using these Putty Buddy ear plugs for Ava during her baths. Well we purchased some on Amazon and they have been successful! We love them!
4.) Make-up Blender: So these blenders have become a new popular thing. You can find them just about anywhere in the make-up section. I found the cheapest place to buy one is T.J Maxx for about $3 to $4 dollars. Most places sell them for around $10. Anyhow, when I first purchased one I thought I knew how to use it but turns out I didn't have a clue! I actually thought it was a waist of money. I did some research and learned the correct way to use one and now I love it! Apparently you have to wet it first, then squeeze all of the water out so it becomes damp, and then use a "bouncing" technique to apply your concealer or foundation. I made the mistake of not wetting it and using more of a spreading/ rubbing technique. Anyhow, thanks to Pinterest and Youtube I have it figured out.
5. Sunny Weather: This week we had a few days of some beautiful weather so we have been playing with Ava's water table. It's not quite water weather yet so we put some sand it. Now if she would only listen when I tell her the sand stays in the sand box.
Happy Friday Everyone!
