This past weekend we celebrated my husband's 31st birthday! Last minute, we decided to have some friends over to celebrate his birthday. I figured we would make it a Fiesta with a taco bar, Piñata, and game night with prizes for the winners.
For the decor I kept it very simple. I used the Piñata and then I used these glass soda bottles as flower vases that I bought from the Mexican store.
For dinner we had a taco bar. I baked some chicken breast and seasoned them with a homemade taco seasoning. I also picked up some homemade corn tortillas (which were amazing) when I purchased the Piñata.
After dinner it was time for the Piñata. We stuffed the Piñata with beef jerky and some adult beverages. I sent my husband to Sam's to pick up a large bag of candy but he came back with beef jerky instead.
The piñata was so much fun. We let the birthday boy go first!
Ava cheered on her Daddy from a safe distance.
After Joey got his hits on the piñata everyone else got a chance including me! I got in beast mode and whacked the heck out of that thing.
Our friend Richie was the piñata operator. He was a pro!
After the piñata was finished we played a few games of Kan-jam and then headed inside for birthday dessert and BINGO. For dessert I made Sopapilla Cheesecake Bars. We sang Happy Birthday and Ava got to help her Dad blow out the candle before it was time for her to go to bed. This little girl was so tired. She drank her bottle and went straight to bed.
Ava was sound asleep, bellies were full, and now it was time for BINGO!!! This summer I found these old fashion Bingo cards at the Vintage Warehouse in Lakeland. The lady there said they would make for great decor, but I informed her that I planned on using them for game nights. My husband has an app on his phone that calls the Bingo numbers for us. It's so much fun. I LOVE Bingo even if I don't win often. Every family walked away as winners. Someone even won $25 from their scratch off!
The FIESTA was a huge success! We had such a great time celebrating with friends. Ava and I are so truly blessed to have such a wonderful man to call ours. His humor, great spirit, kind heart, strength, hard work, and dedication to our family, keeps us smiling and our hearts full!
