This weekend was absolutely wonderful! It was filled with family time, DIY projects, relaxation and more...
Saturday morning we stopped by the Farmer's Market in downtown Lakeland.
We tried some shaved ice cream and this delicious blueberry lemonade.
Ava took produce orders.
After the market we headed to Lowes for a LONG shopping trip. My husband is the best! I went into Lowes thinking that I knew everything I needed for my Pinterest DIY project and realized I didn't. Ava started to get fussy, I got frustrated and pulled one of those, "Let's just go home and forget it." My husband on the other hand was very patient and together we walked out of there with exactly what we needed!
We finished Saturday with afternoon naps, and started prepping our projects for Sunday.
Sunday morning, Joey took Ava with him to grab us some breakfast to give me some alone time. I took the time to start one of my DIY's. I can't wait to show you the finished product.
For Mother's day Joey surprised me with a new light fixture for our breakfast nook. We took down this old one and replaced it with one that has more of an industrial/antique feel. Pictures soon to come!
We spent the rest of the day finishing up our home improvement projects, playing with bubbles (the best bubble machine ever), running through the water, taking naps, playing in the kitchen and just enjoying each other's company. We ended the day with a delicious home cooked steak dinner and a movie.
It truly was a wonderful weekend! I am so blessed this little one calls me Mom and for all the love and support of my husband. This motherhood journey wouldn't be the same without him. I am the Mother I am today because of his love and support.
How was your Mother's Day?
Join me in my journey as a wife, new mom and a baker as I learn to balance all of life's aprons.
